Staff at Barratt David Wilson Homes, who is building new homes across Kent, have been working hard to raise funds for the housebuilder’s charity of the year, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). Staff have already raised £25,000 for the charity, whose service centre for Kent is based in Gillingham, with fundraising set to continue until the end of the year.

Barratt David Wilson Kent’s donation will help the NSPCC to continue to run essential services such as its phonelines, providing free, confidential advice and support from trained counsellors to concerned adults and carers, alongside Childline, a dedicated phoneline for children and young people.

Barratt David Wilson Kent employees will take part in a range of activities throughout 2021 to raise much needed funds for the charity, including climbing Mount Snowdon, and the Directors will be participating in The Tough Mudder challenge in London this September.

Francesca Picciuto, NSPCC Corporate Partnerships Manager for London and the South East said: “We are so grateful to Barratt David Wilson Homes for this very generous donation. This kind of support helps us reach millions of children and young people across the UK.”

Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director of Barratt Kent, adds: “We are exceptionally proud of our fundraising results so far, every member of staff has gone above and beyond to support our fundraising goals. As a family housebuilder, the NSPCC is a charity that is close to our hearts, and we are proud to know that we are one step closer to the charity’s goal of keeping all children safe from harm.”

The charity was chosen by the team at Barratt David Wilson Kent. As the year progresses, staff will continue to undertake individual and team fundraising efforts to raise as much as possible for the NSPCC, with the final total due to be revealed at the end of the year.
