This month has been a bit of a strange one as lockdown hit us and some of the plans that we had, have had to be put on hold, however other projects have been emerging.
We have set up in store alongside our foodbank donation station, two boxes, one is for Matthew 25 mission, we are asking for hats, gloves and coats etc, to keep our homeless friends warm, throughout the toughest time of the year. The other box is a toy appeal alongside Rainbow Wishes, who will distribute them to families and children in need over the festive period.
We supported the rainbow wishes ladies when they gave inglewood nursing home a brand new 50″ television, they were all so excited and thought i was winding them up when i called them asking what we could do to help.
During the half term, we helped support the 3VA and other local charities to put street art on the viaduct in shinewater park. We also help support the Royal British Legion in store by having barcodes so customers could add a donation to their shopping, buckets on the end of the tills and a poppy remembrance tree alongside the poppy donation box. We presented a cheque for the Morrisons Foundation to St Wilfrids Hospice. Compass Community Arts and Inglewood nursing home have created some lovely artwork, that we are displaying in store do pop in and have a look.
We have a lot of plans for December so we look forward to helping our local community throughout these strange yet festive times. We would like to take this opportunity to day thank you to you all for your continued support and hope that you keep well and keep safe.
We also have a store FaceBook Page, where you can see what it is we are getting up to, please pop along and like our page its Community Champions Morrisons.
